Building Your Own Compost

It's spring, you know what that means! Compost season!

Grab your kids and the family, this weekend you're making a compost!

From the sources we found, our landfills are made up for approximately 25% of material that can be composted. A startling statistic. That means a quarter of the landfills don't have to exist if we just composted more.

So how do you do it? How do you make it a habit for your family to throw food garbage, pershible waste, and lawn and garden trimmings into the composting bin every week? Well it starts with a plan.

1. Assign the compost CEO - this person is in charge of mixing it up 3 times a week. (the more oxygen it gets the better it composes the garbage)
