You are liable for any person who suffers personal injury at your planned event

If someone has had too much to drink at your function, gets into their car and hurts someone, you can also be held liable.

You may be liable for any third party property damage. (i.e Fire starts by you or your guest knocking over a candle center piece, and causing significant damage)
