Kidnap, Ransom, & Extortion Insurance
Yup, it's real. But rather controversial. We've seen movies glorifying kidnapping, from Taken to Along Came a Spider. Pop culture loves to draw on the dramtic thrill of dangerous abductions.
Now You can't know you have it or else your policy may be declared void. You may not be able to talk to the insurer once someone has been kidnapped for fear of them being killed. It's a very complex insurance. But with piracy on the Oceans increasing, the "super rich" attracting more attention to themselves, a kidnap insurance isn't that crazy of an idea.
