Read This Before You go Trick or Treatin'

1. Don't trick or treat alone! Make sure you don't lose anyone in your group. Have a route planned out in advance and try to stick to it. That way if something bad happens, your parents will know exactly where you were going.

2. Wear bright colours or reflective tape so vehicles can see you. Sure an all black ninja costume sounds great but when cars can't see you crossing the road, you have bigger problems to worry about.

3. Wear makeup, not a mask. A mask is cool, if you're going to a masquerade ball but if you're walking the Halloween streets in Regina when it's minus ten out, you're not going to want to deal with that mask.

4. Make sure someone in your group has a cell phone in case of emergency. This is a night that it may not be a bad idea to lend your cell phone to your child. Halloween always brings out the best in some people. As long as you have a cell phone you can feel safe that help is simply a dial away.

5. If you have some candy with the package opened or altered, do not eat it. Ask your parents if you're unsure if it's safe to eat. We shouldn't have to put this one on here but c'mon people! Not just on Halloween either, if ANY food package is ever altered you need to throw it away. It's not worth it.

6. Bring a flashlight, you don't want to be walking through a pitch black alley on All Hollows Eve do you? Unless you're going as Mr. Light bulb bring a flashlight. You're going to want to cut down that alley or take the shortcut through the park. Again, don't risk it, take a small flashlight just in case.

7. Take breaks. Some people in your group might not be in the pristine condition you are in. Be sure you have lots of water and don't get dehydrated. Take breaks and make sure you aren't traveling at too fast of a clip.

8. Have FUN! Need I remind you that Halloween is the sweetest holiday amoung all the holidays?!? Every minute can be equated to candy revenue gained or lost, you have to take full advantage. Walk at a steady pace, make sure your bag is large enough for all that candy and have an absolute blast!
